The government through the Jakarta Region III Construction Services Center, the Directorate General of Construction Development of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) appointed PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk. (WIKA Beton) represented by its subsidiary PT Wijaya Karya Komponen Beton (WIKA Kobe) to build Elevated Construction Training Facilities and Infrastructure in the Joint Office complex of the Ministry of PUPR Citeureup Area, West Java. This project is based on the needs of human resources in Indonesia who can support infrastructure development which is still the government's focus in 2021. Especially now that elevated construction is one of the developments that are often carried out, especially in big cities in Indonesia.  

This Elevated Construction Training Facilities & Infrastructure will later be equipped with the construction of 5 (five) pier heads and 4 (four) spans with a length of 30.6 meters each. There are 4 (four) types of concrete blocks prepared for training materials, including PC-U Girder, PC-I Girder, Box Girder with Span by Span method, and Box Girder with Balance Cantilever method, complete with Launching Gantry tool. Later, participants who successfully pass this training are expected to have international standards and be able to work in the international area.

Among the scope of work that WIKA Kobe will do are earthworks, lower structure work, training area floor plate work, drainage work, access road work, procurement of gantry launchers & hydraulic jacks, precast pier work, and procurement of girders & pot bearings. 

The appointment of WIKA Beton Group to work on this project can be regarded as an acknowledgment of WIKA Beton's expertise in the world of elevated construction. WIKA Beton has contributed to various national-scale projects both in terms of the production of high-quality precast concrete to the provision of related construction services. Among these projects is the construction of the Pasopati-Bandung Flyover, the Semanggi-Jakarta Interchange, Bogor Outer Ringroad, to the AP Pettarani-Makassar Elevated Toll Road which has the achievement of Safe Manhours 5 million non-Lost Time Injury working hours in the process.

The launching of the Elevated Construction Training Facilities & Infrastructure was held on Monday (12/4) afternoon in Citeureup, along with the signing of the Construction Safety Commitment Pact in the Field of Elevated Construction by the President Directors/Directors of BUJK BUMN who are in charge of the field of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) who are members of the QHSE BUMN forum.
